1. Data Controller
- Owner of the game: Last Game Studio (online operations supported by Last Game Studio infrastructure)
- Game: DARKON, an online multiplayer shooter for PC (Windows and Linux)
- Official listing: Steam
- Contact email: support@lastgamestudio.fun
2. Scope
Applies to the use of DARKON on PC (distributed via Steam) and its associated online services: multiplayer matchmaking and gameplay, in-game voice chat, blockchain tournaments linked to the VTLGST token, and support. By playing DARKON you accept this policy.
3. Data We Collect
Steam account data: your Steam ID and public Steam profile info, provided by Steamworks when you launch the game. Required to identify you across multiplayer sessions and to deliver purchases/entitlements sold through Steam.
Gameplay data: match history, statistics, selected species/loadout, progress and in-game settings. Generated automatically as you play. Required to run matches and keep your progress.
Network and technical data: your IP address, connection quality data, device and OS information, and basic crash/error logs. Collected automatically to host multiplayer matches, route you to a game server, and detect abuse (e.g. cheating, DDoS). Necessary for the multiplayer service to function.
Voice chat audio: only if you enable the in-game voice chat (proximity or radio channel), your microphone audio is transmitted live to other players in the same match through our voice infrastructure provider (Photon Voice). We do not record or store this audio — it exists only for the duration of the live transmission. Voice chat is off by default configurable at any time in Settings, which also mutes incoming voice.
Blockchain / wallet data: only if you choose to connect a crypto wallet to participate in VTLGST-based tournaments, we process your public wallet address and the on-chain transactions you authorize (tournament entry burns and prize payouts). We never have custody of your funds or your private keys — all transactions are signed by you in your own wallet.
Communications: support messages and attachments sent by you via email or our Discord server. Optional unless legally required.
We do not show third-party advertising in the game. We do not request your real name, home address, precise physical location, contacts or camera access.
4. Purposes of Processing
- Providing the service: running multiplayer matches, matchmaking, and saving your gameplay progress.
- Voice communication: relaying live audio between players who opt into voice chat during a match.
- Tournament management: processing VTLGST entry fees and prize payouts you authorize on-chain.
- Purchase management: validating and delivering purchases/entitlements sold through Steam.
- Customer support: responding to issues related to gameplay, purchases or tournaments.
- Security: detecting cheating, abuse and technical failures across our multiplayer servers.
- Product improvement: analyzing aggregated, non-identifying technical metrics to improve the game.
5. Legal Bases
- Contract performance: delivering the multiplayer game and the content you purchase or unlock.
- Consent: enabling voice chat, connecting a wallet for tournaments, and voluntary support submissions.
- Legitimate interest: keeping our servers stable, secure and free of cheating or abuse.
- Legal compliance: responding to administrative or regulatory requirements.
6. Purchases and Tournament Transactions
- Purchases and entitlements are managed by Steam/Steamworks; we do not store your payment card details, which are handled directly by Valve.
- Tournament entry (VTLGST burn) and prize payouts (VTLGST mint) happen through a smart contract you interact with directly from your own wallet — we do not custody funds at any point.
- Because these tournament transactions occur on a public blockchain, the wallet address and transaction details are, by the nature of blockchain technology, publicly visible on-chain and cannot be modified or deleted by us or by you once confirmed.
- We do not share your gameplay progress or match history with other users beyond what is inherently visible during a live match (e.g. your in-game name and stats to players in the same session).
7. Recipients and Third Parties
We do not sell your data. We share only what is strictly necessary with:
- Valve Corporation (Steam/Steamworks), to identify your account, process purchases and enable multiplayer matchmaking.
- Our networking and voice infrastructure provider (Photon), to host multiplayer game sessions and relay live voice chat audio.
- The public blockchain network used for VTLGST (visible to anyone, by design), only for transactions you personally authorize.
- Last Game Studio servers (TLS hosting), to run dedicated game servers and match orchestration.
- Email and Discord, for support communications.
We do not integrate advertising SDKs or third-party analytics/tracking networks in the game.
8. International Transfers
We try to host our own game servers within the EU/EEA; some providers we depend on (Valve/Steam, Photon, and the blockchain network's distributed node infrastructure) may operate from the US or other jurisdictions. In those cases we apply standard contractual clauses or other recognized safeguards where applicable.
9. Retention Periods
- Steam account link and gameplay progress: while you keep playing DARKON, until you request deletion of your data.
- Voice chat audio: not retained — it is only relayed live for the duration of the match and is never recorded or stored by us.
- Purchase records: while the account is active and up to 5 additional years for legal/accounting obligations.
- On-chain tournament transactions: permanent — this is an inherent property of blockchain technology and outside our control.
- Technical/network logs: up to 24 months.
- Communications: up to 3 years from ticket closure.
10. Exercising Your Rights
You can request access, rectification, deletion, portability, objection and restriction, or withdraw your consent, for the data we control directly (account link, gameplay data, support communications). Write to us at support@lastgamestudio.fun; we respond within ≤30 days. Please note we cannot alter or delete data that has already been written to a public blockchain (see Section 9).
11. Security
- Communications encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- Voice chat audio is transmitted through Photon's infrastructure and is not stored by us.
- Purchases are authenticated and processed directly by Steam/Steamworks; blockchain transactions are authenticated and signed directly in your own wallet.
- Server-side anti-abuse checks to protect matches from cheating and denial-of-service attempts.
12. Minors
DARKON is a general-audience online shooter, but it includes live voice chat with other players and optional blockchain/tournament features involving real value — both require extra care with minors. We recommend that minors play under the supervision of a parent or guardian, keep voice chat disabled unless supervised, and that wallet connection and tournament participation be handled exclusively by an adult. We do not show ads and do not integrate third-party trackers, so no advertising profile is built from a child's use of the game.
13. Device Permissions and Features
We only request:
- Internet access, required for multiplayer matches, purchases and tournament features.
- Microphone access, only if you enable voice chat in Settings; you can disable it at any time, which also mutes incoming voice from other players.
We do not access your camera, contacts or precise physical location.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy for operational or regulatory reasons. We will publish the new effective date on this page and, where the change is significant, communicate it in-game or via our Discord server before it takes effect.
15. Contact and Complaints
Email: support@lastgamestudio.fun. If you are not satisfied, you can file a complaint with your country's data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).
